Louise Dwyer 

I discovered my love for fine contemporary jewellery whilst studying art and design at university; during this time I began to combine my interests in the arts and painting with jewellery design. Training and learning the traditional skills involved which developed my appreciation for working in precious metals and diamonds. Later, working as a jewellery designer in York, I further developed my craft. For over the last twenty five years, I have worked in the jewellery and art profession, establishing and running a well known gallery in Helmsley, and most recently setting up for the second time, my own personal business Louise Dwyer Jewellery.   

 

Specialising in commissioned work, I produce new bespoke designs, as well as remodelling with stones and adapting old jewellery to create new treasured pieces.  

 

Private commissions for clients have been successful over many years and is important to the development of my design work.  My jewellery can be seen in galleries and online and is characterised by practical and classical designs, mixed with influences from the environment and natural world. I particularly like to work with gold, semi precious stones or diamonds, however, many of my pieces are made in gold and silver with texture, gold inlay or combined golds.
