JEWELLER, ARTIST PRACTICE, MAKING, CREATIVITY & RELATIONSHIP WITH THE NATURAL WORLD
Louise's work is based and inspired by the land, nature, and her relationship with the natural world. During her childhood, Louise was an keen collector and maker of many things and loved painting. She chose a creative route, with a career after finishing a BA Arts degree in design, later running a contemporary craft gallery, then completing a Masters in Curation Practices. Louise's work now involves all three strands of experience and skills and she enjoys the collaboration with artists, makers, a people in local business. Louise works to commission privately and sells in local gallery and exhibitions.
Private commissions for clients have been successful over many years and is important to the development of my design work. My jewellery can be seen in galleries and online and is characterised by practical and classical designs, mixed with influences from the environment and natural world. I particularly like to work with gold, semi precious stones or diamonds, however, many of my pieces are made in gold and silver with texture, gold inlay or combined golds.
Re-inventing, Recreating and Refreshing are all part of my design processes
